Jeffrey Skilling has left the building

This story took a back seat to election coverage here this week, but news outlets have report that FCI Waseca’s most well-known inmate has been moved to a facility in Colorado.

The Houston Chronicle reported this week that Former Enron Chief Executive Jeffrey Skilling has been moved to a low- security prison in Littleton, Colo.

As we’ve reported, FCI Waseca is gradually converting to an all-women facility by the end of the year.

How times have changed for Mr. Skilling. His arrival to FCI Waseca drew nationwide coverage from several news agencies. His departure gets a brief mention in just a few papers and blogs.

It’s my understanding that Skilling is still fighting an appeal. He was convicted in 2006 on 19 counts of conspiracy, fraud and insider trading.

The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood in Littleton, Colorado, is a low security facility housing male offenders. The institution also has an administrative detention center and an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum security male offenders

Actually, unless they changed in the past week or so, FCI Englewood is a MEDIUM security prison. Can't be too careful with those dirty rats who exaggerate the health of their companies!

Still fighting for an appeal gives him something else to do but he doesn't deserve one.

Waseca desperately NEEDS a movie theater. It must have really been a slow news day both the day Mr. Skilling arrived and today.

No! He was one of our most famous citizens! And he exemplified our town motto, "For an hour, for a lifetime." (I always add 'depending on how the judge sentences you.')
