Old Man Winter finally had us feeling cold enough for comfort in the midst of Waseca Sleigh and Cutter Fest.

This week’s paper features the story of Yves Spies, a senior at Waseca High School who has accomplished some great things since moving to Waseca in 2010.

It’s not every day we see a star in our midst right here in Waseca County.

Over the last few weeks — this one included — we have had a story highlighting the foreign exchange students who are making Waseca their temporary home during this school year.

The size of a town is hardly reflective of its generosity.
At least that is the case in New Richland.

Now that the holidays have passed, we begin to take a look ahead to 2012. But before we put a bow on 2011, we can’t help but take a look back at the year that was.

No doubt we’ve all had our ups and downs in 2011.
